"Lake Elsinore will not leave anyone behind"

Jorge Lopez has always felt the need to help others. Whether it was defending classmates from bullies or lending a helping hand to those in need, he always looked at the world with a sense of justice and fairness. Perhaps because he found so many people willing to help his family when he immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 10.

When he turned 18 years old, he joined the Marine Corps to serve his adopted country. After the Marines, he worked for a small company where he ascended from delivery driver to General Manager – saving the company from bankruptcy while going to college and receiving his first Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science. He then went to work for a telecommunications company. There, he earned his second Bachelors of Science in TV, Film and New Media. It was during his years at San Diego State University that he realized how politics affects people whether the people participate or not.  It made him realize how much it really mattered who was elected to lead their community.

In 2009, he and his wife, Julieta, moved to Lake Elsinore. In 2014, they became foster parents to give children a safe, stable and secure place to live in while waiting to reunify with their parents. Since then, they have adopted two wonderful little girls.

Jorge’s desire to do more for the community, led him to get involved in grassroots movements. The contacts and knowledge he gained, allowed him to guide other candidates in their efforts to elected office.

In 2016, he became President of the Democrats of Southwest Riverside County and helped form the Temecula Valley Democrats. In 2018, he joined the Riverside County Democratic Party Central Committee as Controller. He was also elected to be an Assembly District Delegate to represent Southwest Riverside County at the California Democratic Party conventions.  Currently Jorge is also a member in his company's charity board.

Mr. Lopez is seeking to serve as Lake Elsinore's 5th District City Council member to reduce traffic congestion, strengthen fire safety and improve schools and infrastructure. But Jorge is looking forward to Lake Elsinore’s next phase: a university focused on high-tech and medical careers with a teaching hospital to create a labor force capable of filling higher paying local jobs, offer excellent medical care to our community and give everyone access to the internet.

"Regardless of party, we prosper with effective leadership" - Jorge Lopez
